Introduction to our Mission
Meaningful Empowerment for Change and Poverty Alleviation (MECPA) was established in 2007 as a Not for Profit Organization.
Founded in 2007, MECPA support projects that bring together stakeholders and the local community members to collectively generate long term solutions to the Environmental related problems and Poverty Reduction.

Current Project Highlight
Currently, MECPA is implementing two projects focusing on Wetlands Restoration and Women’s Land Right in Agweng sub county, Lira District.

Collaboration and Funding
With support from UNDP/GEF in 2014/15, MECPA partnered with Straight Talk Foundation/Tree Talk to initiate transformative community engagement projects that address the intersection of environment and socio-economic development.
